Breaking (Garlic Bread) and Cake: The Third Serving
(June 2024)
In June 2024, Jenna DeWitt, Ell Huang and I hosted our third annual community meeting and discussion to support and celebrate queer Christians of all stripes who identify on the asexual and aromantic spectrums. It’s been an amazing and supportive space for ace and aro Christians struggling with Purity Culture, queerphobia, navigating queer spaces, amatonormativity, ableism, and white supremacy. (Link)

Aces Never Sleep: 24h Edition
(April 2024)
For International Asexuality Day 2024, the IAD organizers came up with an awesome idea: Why not have an international 24 hour livestream featuring aces and aros from around the world? This was an incredible project that showed the awesome depth and breadth of the aspec community.
As part of this livestream, I joined Red, Christa, Ashabi, and Yilin Wang from ACAR (Aspecs Committed to Anti-Racism) to talk about the importance of anti-racism work in the aspec community. After, I interviewed Yilin about their incredible book The Lantern and The Night Moths, discussing the intersection of the ace experience with their work translating a roster of amazing Chinese poets. Then I had a chat with my friend Jenna DeWitt on their experience with being a Sapphic oriented aroace, and navigating messy identities. (Link)

Disabled BIPOC Aces Panel 2023: Disabled Ace Day 2023
(November 2023)
Courtney Lane established Disabled Ace Day as part of Ace Week to continue their fight for intersectionality and disability justice in the ace and aro community. Part of that was an amazing discussion panel that I had the honour of hosting, alongside Dal Cecil Runo, Johnnie Jae, Charlie the Prophet, and Courtney Lane. This awesome event highlights the importance of the fight against ableism and white supremacy in the ace and aro community, and it was an important forum for disabled and racilized aces and aros to share their lived experience and speak their truth.

International Asexuality Conference 2023: Livestream Panel Discussions
(March 2023)
In 2023, I was invited to participate as a panelist and host for several text-based and livestreamed events as part of IAC 2023; it was an amazing honour to meet and listen to folks from the older ace community, and others from the demisexual and greysexual community too. All in all, it was a great space to share with others belong to lesser-known parts of the ace and aro community. Many thanks to the organizers of IAC 2023 for putting together an amazing conference.

Interviews
Postscript: An Interview with Justin Ancheta
(saveasdoc, Oct. 2023)
For their article featured in Sojourners, Joey Thurmond interviewed an amazing array of ace and aro Christians. What started out as a quick little one-and-done interview turned into a rich and engaging conversation about Christianity, genuineness, asexuality, bisexuality, queerness, tarot, and furries. Our interview unfortunately didn’t make it into the final article, but I think it’s one of the most intimate and vulnerable interviews I’ve done.
I’m truly thankful to Joey for the time and space to let our conversation bloom in the way that it did. (link)
